Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a cylindrical part which is free of cavity and of sound recrystallized texture by subjecting centrifugally cast pipe with a peripheral convexity on its outside to a plastic processing and then to compressive contraction. CONSTITUTION: A pipe with the peripheral convexity A, the tapered portion C, and straight portion B, for example, is obtained by a centrifugal casting method. The pipe is subjected to a plastic deformation into an oval shape throughout its whole length and then to a contraction in such a way that the peripheral convixity A and the tapered portion C becomes larger than the straight tube portion B and also the tapered portion C is leveled with the straight tube portion B. Then, it is subjected to a recrystallization and heat treatment and then its likely bad portion inside is removed out by cutting off the broken line in the Fig. COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
